Authorities were alerted to the scene following a report of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The victim, identified as Hasan Yıldız, was rushed to the hospital but tragically succumbed to his injuries. The initial call to the 112 Emergency Call Center described the incident as a suicide, leading to an immediate police response.

However, as police meticulously examined the apartment and gathered information, the narrative shifted dramatically. It became clear that the scene was not one of self-harm but rather the result of a violent altercation. Investigators determined that Hasan Yıldız's own son, Şenol Yıldız, was responsible for the shooting, which stemmed from a family dispute.

The suspect was apprehended by Esenyurt District Police teams shortly after the investigation began. He was located at the hospital where his father was taken and has been taken into custody. The firearm used in the commission of the crime was subsequently found in the suspect's apartment on the upper floor.
