Floor leader Song Eon-seok directly accused Minister Chung of jeopardizing South Korea's relationship with the United States through his public statements regarding North Korea's nuclear capabilities. This incident, involving alleged leaks of sensitive information about facilities in Yongbyon and Kusong, has reportedly led to Washington imposing restrictions on intelligence sharing with Seoul.

He further questioned the President's support for the minister, particularly given the ongoing US concerns. The PPP's strong stance reflects a broader concern within the opposition about national security and the handling of inter-Korean affairs, suggesting that Minister Chung's actions have undermined trust and strategic cooperation with a key ally.
