Song Sung-moon Reaches Base for Third Straight Game in Padres' Loss

Song Sung-moon of the San Diego Padres extended his on-base streak to three games with a walk in the ninth inning against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The utility player entered the game as a defensive substitution in the seventh inning with the Padres trailing significantly.

In the top of the ninth, with the Padres already down 10-0, Song stepped up to the plate and worked a walk against Diamondbacks reliever Kevin Ginkel. This followed a hit on April 4th and another walk the previous day, keeping his streak alive. His season batting average remains at .208.

The Padres' offense showed signs of life late in the game. Fernando Tatis Jr. led off the ninth with a solo home run, breaking the shutout. After Song's walk, the bases became loaded, and Jake Workman followed with a bases-clearing double. However, the rally stalled, and the Padres ultimately fell 10-4.
