Sookmyung Women's University and Nestle Korea Expand Industry-Academia Cooperation to Foster Practical Female Talent

Sookmyung Women's University and global food and beverage company Nestle Korea have strengthened their partnership to cultivate practical female talent. The two institutions signed an industry-academia cooperation agreement on July 21st at the university's administrative building in Seoul.

Building on the success of their collaboration in 2023, the agreement aims to broaden student career and employment-linked programs. Previously, the organizations have actively engaged through internships, company visits, and career fairs. This new phase will introduce capstone courses focused on practical problem-solving, 'Nestle DAY' events on campus, and real-world marketing projects.

Sookmyung Women's University, recognized for its 'excellent' rating for 10 consecutive years in the Ministry of Employment and Labor's University Job Plus Center project, will utilize its robust infrastructure to enhance employment opportunities and career development for its students. President Moon Si-yeon expressed her delight in continuing the partnership with Nestle Korea, a leader in the global food industry, and pledged strong support for students to gain field experience and grow into future female leaders.

Nestle Korea CEO Thomas Casse highlighted the company's commitment to nurturing future talent as part of its Creating Shared Value initiative. He expressed anticipation for a deeper partnership with Sookmyung Women's University to provide students with practical business experience and jointly realize shared values of innovation and sustainability.
