Soundcity OnTour heads to Zaria for music talent discovery

Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria is preparing to host Soundcity OnTour, a nationwide talent search for Nigeria's next music stars. The event, supported by BIGI and Fearless Energy Drink, will take place from August 18 to 20, bringing music, entertainment, and opportunities for aspiring artists to Kaduna State.

This Zaria stop marks the 15th location on a 20-campus tour that aims to deliver a high-production concert experience to universities across Nigeria between June and October. Beyond the live performances, the tour provides a direct pathway for student artists to gain national recognition through the BIGI Music talent discovery platform.

Activities begin on August 18 with campus build-up events. The following day, student artists will participate in live BIGI Music auditions, with the top five performers earning a spot on the concert stage and a chance to win ₦1 million. The competition extends beyond the campus level, allowing winners to advance to regional battles and potentially the national stage, where top talents will receive professional music production, mentorship, radio rotation, and music videos.

The final day, August 20, will feature a full Soundcity OnTour concert with prominent Nigerian artists such as Falz, Magnito, Firstklaz, Hypeman Best, and DJ Dewik.
