South Al Batinah Municipality implements over 437 community and tourism events

The South Al Batinah Municipality in Oman has actively engaged its community and promoted tourism through a robust schedule of events. During the first half of this year, the municipality's Events and Awareness Department implemented more than 437 diverse initiatives and programs.

These efforts, undertaken in partnership with government bodies, private companies, and civil society organizations, focused on enhancing public awareness, stimulating tourism, and improving the overall quality of life across the governorate. Activities ranged from tourism festivals like the "Try South Al Batinah" event and "Al Fans Nights" to sports tournaments, staff meetings, and celebrations for International Workers' Day.

The municipality also prioritized health and environmental initiatives, including a beach cleanup campaign and a "Be Aware" campaign promoting food safety and public health through proper animal slaughtering practices. Partnerships were crucial, with collaborations supporting events such as "Barka Winter," "Rustaq Winter," and a National Climate Awareness Campaign.

Statistical indicators reveal a significant focus on media outreach. Social media platforms were the primary channel for disseminating information, accounting for 63% of all implemented activities, totaling 255 media items. Awareness publications and events constituted 13%, while community partnerships represented 10%.

Nadia bint Salem Al-Siyabi, Director of the Events and Awareness Department, highlighted the department's achievements in the first half of the year, underscoring the broad scope of activities implemented across various districts within the governorate, including Rustaq, Musannah, Al Awabi, and Wadi Al Maawil.
