South Korea announces May 30 personnel appointments

South Korea's Ministry of Personnel has announced a series of appointments and transfers across several government ministries and agencies, effective May 30. These changes aim to fill key leadership and operational roles.

At the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, Heo Jae-woo has been appointed as a standing member, while Im Jin-hong will serve as the head of the Planning and Coordination Office, and Jeong Se-hee as the administrator for the Administrative Appeals Review Committee.

The Korea Communications Commission has appointed Cheon Ji-hyun as the Director-General of the Broadcasting Media Promotion Bureau. In the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Kim Jang-hoon will lead the Operations Support Division, Im Jae-jeong the Contract Policy Division, and Lee Chan-jong the Contract Dispute Review Division.

Promotions were also made within the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment, with Jeong Eun-hae elevated to Chairperson of the Central Environmental Dispute Resolution and Victim Relief Committee. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport saw several director-level promotions, including Shim Ji-young as Director of Logistics Policy, Cho Seong-gyun as Director of Railway Safety, and Baek Seung-ho as head of the Iksan Regional Construction and Management Office. Additionally, various division chief positions were reassigned within this ministry.

The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries also saw personnel changes, with Son Oh-hak appointed as head of the West Sea Fisheries Management Office and Park Cheon-il as head of the South Sea Fisheries Management Office. Park Jeong-in will lead the Donghae Regional Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Office, and Jeon Jae-hoon the Pyeongtaek Regional Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Office. The Korea Legislation Research Institute also announced promotions for research fellows and senior administrative staff.
