South Korea seeks nominees for re-entrepreneurship awards

South Korea's Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS) and the Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development (KISED) are actively seeking nominations for their "2026 Re-entrepreneurship Activation Contribution Awards." This initiative aims to identify and honor individuals and organizations that have demonstrated significant success in re-entrepreneurship or have played a crucial role in supporting those who venture into business again.

The awards program is designed to foster a culture of second chances and encourage experienced entrepreneurs to leverage their past knowledge and skills for new ventures. Re-entrepreneurship is seen as a vital component of a dynamic economy, bringing valuable experience and innovation to the market.

Applications for the awards are currently open and will be accepted until August 26. The recognition program includes two main categories: "Re-entrepreneurship Enterprise" and "Re-entrepreneurship Support." A total of 12 ministerial commendations from the Minister of SMEs and Startups will be awarded across these categories.

This program underscores the government's commitment to supporting entrepreneurs at all stages of their careers. By highlighting successful re-entrepreneurs and their supporters, the MSS and KISED aim to inspire others and provide a platform for sharing best practices in business recovery and innovation.
