South Korean Army NCOs Sentenced to Prison for Operating Crypto Exchange for Drug Money Laundering

These individuals allegedly operated an unregistered virtual asset exchange, using it to facilitate drug trafficking. They received drug proceeds via bank transfers and then converted these funds into cryptocurrency to deliver to drug dealers. This sophisticated method of money laundering, conducted over approximately 90 transactions between 2023 and 2024, highlights a disturbing intersection of illicit activities and emerging financial technologies.
