South Korean Government Announces Personnel Appointments and Transfers

South Korea's government ministries and agencies have announced a series of personnel changes, affecting key positions across several departments. The Ministry of Unification has appointed Yoon Sang-seok as the new Head of the Civil Society Communication Division and Hwang Yu-sang as the Head of Audit.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has made several appointments at the division director level, including Kim Do-young to the Religious Affairs Division, Choi Hye-ji to the Public Relations Division, Park So-jeong to Cultural Policy, Park Sang-hyun to Arts Education, Cho Jae-il to Traditional Culture, Lee Yong-wook to Copyright Special Judicial Police, Kim Dong-eun to International Cultural Policy, and In Sook-jin to Content Planning.

In the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, Ha Jong-soo has been appointed as the Head of the Gyeongnam Regional Agricultural Products Quality Management Service, and Baek Un-hwal as the Head of the Western Regional Seed Center. Kang Hyo-joo will lead the International Cooperation Division, Jin Pil-sik the Korea National College of Agriculture and Fisheries Operations Support Division, and Kim Jeong-rak the Agricultural and Food Export Promotion Division.

Further appointments include An Se-jin as Energy Policy Officer and Lee Kyeong-soo as Renewable Energy Officer within the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment. The Ministry of Economy and Finance has appointed Lee Won-kyung as the Head of Government Subsidy Management. The Korean Intellectual Property Office has named Baek In-hyun as an Examiner at the Patent Tribunal.

The National Tax Service has seen extensive changes, with multiple officials transferred or appointed to new roles across its headquarters and regional offices, including positions related to audit, international taxation, tax investigation, and taxpayer services in Seoul, the central region, Incheon, Daejeon, and Gwangju.
