Southern and eastern Taiwan are bracing for heavy rainfall on August 24, influenced by a tropical depression and a strong southwest monsoon. Meanwhile, Typhoon Saudel, currently located east of Taipei, is intensifying and moving northwestward. Temperatures across Taiwan are expected to be moderate, with highs ranging from 27 to 31°C and lows between 25 and 27°C. Air quality is generally forecast to be good across the island, benefiting from rainfall that helps disperse pollutants. Some areas, like the northern air quality zone, may experience "ordinary" conditions.

Looking ahead, the weather pattern shifts from Tuesday, August 25, with the southwest monsoon and low-pressure system continuing to bring moisture. While rainfall is expected to ease during the day, conditions remain humid. By Wednesday, scattered showers are predicted for southern Taiwan, with partly cloudy to sunny skies elsewhere. Starting Thursday, August 27, Typhoon Saudel's outer circulation is expected to affect Taiwan, bringing intermittent showers to northern areas and significant rain to northern mountainous regions. Friday and Saturday are forecast to see showers or thunderstorms in western and northeastern Taiwan, with potential for heavy rain in northern and central mountainous areas. The typhoon is expected to move away by Sunday, August 30, though moisture will persist.
