Southern Hesse could reach 30C, but strong winds and storms are possible

Hesse could get one more summer-like day, with temperatures reaching 30C in the south, according to the German Weather Service in Offenbach.

The south should remain bright and dry, but strong winds will affect the region and some areas could see storm-force gusts. In northern Hesse, temperatures are expected to rise to 25C. The sky will remain cloudy, with rain arriving from late afternoon and potentially becoming heavy. Thunderstorms could bring severe gusts.

Clouds will continue moving through the north on Saturday before conditions gradually brighten. Highs will range from 22C in the northern Hesse uplands to 27C in the Rhine-Main region, while higher elevations will remain closer to 18C. Windy conditions will continue.

The night into Sunday will turn cool. Temperatures could fall to 7C in the north and as low as 5C in valleys and hollows. The south is expected to reach around 10C, with local fog.

Fog and mist should clear quickly on Sunday. The weather service forecasts bright to sunny conditions, with highs of 23C to 26C in the north and 26C to 29C in the south.
