Southern Iran erupted in a series of explosions early Wednesday, with reports of blasts in multiple locations including the Shahid Haghani port in Bandar Abbas. Iranian state media detailed six explosions in the port city and additional blasts in Sirik and on Qeshm Island.

These events followed an announcement by the United States that it had launched military strikes against Iran. The U.S. Central Command confirmed the operation, stating it was a response to what it described as Iranian attacks on three commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
