Spanish artist Javier Rodríguez wins three Eisner Awards at Comic-Con

Spanish artist Javier Rodríguez achieved a significant triumph at San Diego Comic-Con, securing three prestigious Eisner Awards, often referred to as the Oscars of the comic world. His work on DC Comics' 'Absolute Martian Manhunter' earned him accolades for Best Limited Series and Best Penciller/Inker.

Rodríguez's third award recognized his contributions to 'Absolute Martian Manhunter,' 'Batman & Robin: Year One #7,' and 'The New Gods #8.' The miniseries 'Absolute Martian Manhunter' was also the most awarded work of the night, with Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou winning for Best Lettering. This series is part of DC's Absolute Universe line, reimagining iconic characters.

This is not Rodríguez's first Eisner win; he previously received an award in 2025 for Best Limited Series for 'Zatanna: Bring Down the House.' The ceremony also celebrated other Spanish-speaking talent, with illustrator Laura Pérez winning for Best U.S. Edition of International Material for 'Nocturnos.' Additionally, Argentine creator Héctor Germán Oesterheld was inducted into the Eisner Awards Hall of Fame.
