Spanish civil servant lives in a 12-square-meter truck, saving on housing costs

In Spain, where housing costs present a significant challenge, 29-year-old civil servant José Antonio Núñez has adopted an unconventional solution: living in a 12-square-meter converted truck.

Núñez, who documents his unique lifestyle on TikTok under the handle @illojoce, highlights the economic benefits of his choice, stating, "I don't pay a mortgage, water, or electricity." This decision represents a departure from traditional housing models, offering freedom from significant monthly expenses.

The interior of the truck has been meticulously designed to maximize the limited space. It features a living area with over 2.30 meters of height, a compact kitchen equipped with a gas burner, sink, refrigerator, microwave, and even a wine rack. A full bathroom with a shower and a 1.35 by 2-meter bed are also included.

A particularly notable feature is the rear garage, capable of storing a motorcycle up to 1000cc. Núñez frequently showcases this aspect in his videos, emphasizing the practicality and ingenuity of his mobile home. Beyond the vehicle's specifications, his social media content offers a glimpse into his daily routine, demonstrating how this alternative living arrangement provides not only mobility but also a sense of liberation from conventional constraints.
