Spanish Football Federation in Talks to Extend Coach Luis de la Fuente's Contract Until 2030

The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) is actively engaged in discussions to extend the contract of national team coach Luis de la Fuente, aiming to keep him beyond his current deal which ends in 2028, possibly until 2030. RFEF President Rafael Louzán highlighted De la Fuente's "simplicity and capacity for work" as key factors in leading Spain to its second World Cup title, alongside an "unforgettable group of players."

It is something that I believe Luis deserves and we are working on it. I think when I arrived, a few months later, we had to face precisely a fair and necessary renewal with Luis de la Fuente that has led us to this success and all his team and therefore we are going to work now and in fact we are already doing it for that contract extension that he has until 2028, to take it further or around 2030 because he has to be a participant.

"I believe Luis deserves this, and we are working on it," Louzán stated in an RNE interview. "When I arrived, a few months later, we had to address a fair and necessary renewal with Luis de la Fuente, which has led us to this success, along with his entire team. Louzán emphasized De la Fuente's impressive record, noting that he is the national team coach with the most titles across all categories of Spanish football.
