Special License Plates, Including '1688', Up for Auction in Taiwan

Car enthusiasts in Taiwan will have the opportunity to bid on personalized license plates, including those featuring auspicious numbers like 1688, during upcoming auctions. The Taoyuan Motor Vehicles Office is set to release a batch of special plates for bidding starting August 4th.

The auction will feature a range of license plates for private passenger and commercial vehicles. Bidding will commence with a reserve price of NT$3,000 for standard plates and NT$6,000 for the first-tier plates. Among the available plates are those with the code "CDR" and specific number ranges, as well as highly sought-after plates like "CFG-1688," "CFF-5568," and "CDJ-9998."

In addition to the Taoyuan office, the Zhongli Motor Vehicles Office will also be holding online auctions. These will include plates for private passenger and commercial vehicles under the code "CFJ," as well as plates for ordinary heavy motorcycles with codes "PKP" and "PKN." The bidding period for Zhongli's auctions will run from August 3rd to August 5th.
