Spider-Man: Brand New Day becomes fastest film to reach $900 million domestically

Spider-Man: Brand New Day has reached $900 million at the domestic box office faster than any film before it. The Marvel and Sony blockbuster crossed the milestone in 36 days, beating the 50-day mark set by Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

The achievement makes it only the second movie to pass $900 million in North America. It reached the figure over the Labor Day holiday weekend while continuing its run at the top of the box office. After five weekends, the film had already earned $891.5 million domestically and was heading toward a sixth consecutive weekend at No. 1.

The new record puts the film within reach of The Force Awakens, whose $936.6 million domestic total remains the North American record. If its theatrical run stays strong, Spider-Man: Brand New Day could overtake that figure.

The film has also passed $2.3 billion worldwide, placing it among cinema’s highest-grossing movies. Destin Daniel Cretton directed the film, which stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker, alongside Zendaya and Jon Bernthal. Its performance comes during a strong summer for Hollywood, when films including Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey helped drive about $4.6 billion in ticket sales from May through August 2026.
