'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' is maintaining its phenomenal box office performance, raking in an estimated $144.5 million domestically during its second weekend. The Sony-Marvel release has achieved a staggering $1.67 billion worldwide in just 10 days, positioning it among the all-time highest-grossing blockbusters.

Domestically, the film has set records for the fastest accumulation of earnings, grossing $655.1 million in US and Canadian cinemas. Overseas, it has already surpassed $1 billion. 'Brand New Day' became the year's highest-grossing movie in just seven days, easily surpassing 'Toy Story 5.' Notably, no previous Sony film had ever cleared $100 million in its second weekend domestically, coming close to the record set by 'The Force Awakens' in 2015.

Adding to the cinematic success, Christopher Nolan's 'The Odyssey' has also crossed the $1 billion mark globally. In its fourth weekend, the Universal Pictures release added $31.5 million domestically, bringing its worldwide total to $1.1 billion. This achievement makes 'The Odyssey' Nolan's first film to reach this threshold since 'The Dark Knight Rises' in 2012 and his biggest box-office hit ever, unadjusted for inflation.

The strong performance of 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' and 'The Odyssey' has significantly boosted Hollywood's box office, marking its best year since the pandemic. Ticket sales are currently 18.5% ahead of last year, with five films already surpassing $1 billion, a feat not seen since 2019. The summer theatrical revenue is projected to reach $4 billion, a key indicator of a thriving industry.
