Films like 'Toy Story 5,' 'Michael,' and 'The Super Mario Galaxy Movie' also crossed the billion-dollar threshold in 2026, but required several weeks to do so. 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' achieved this milestone in a single week.

The film's success is attributed to its strong performance across all global markets, with a notable contribution from China. Domestically, it grossed $449 million in the United States and Canada, while international markets generated $706 million. In North America alone, it set a new record for the highest opening weekend, earning $360 million and surpassing 'Avengers: Endgame' for that specific record.
