A young man dressed as Spider-Man has become a local hero in Jonesboro, Arkansas, after a video captured him rescuing an elderly person in a wheelchair from a perilous situation at a busy intersection. The incident occurred when Christopher Helenthal, 20, a trampoline park employee, noticed the individual struggling to cross the six-lane road.

Helenthal was reportedly on his way from a superhero event at his workplace and was still in his Spider-Man costume. As the traffic light changed and cars began to move, he quickly exited his vehicle. He rushed to the wheelchair user, swiftly pushed them to safety, and offered words of reassurance, saying, "Don't worry, I'll help you."

After ensuring the person was safe, Helenthal returned to his car and drove off. He later told reporters that he would have performed the same act even without the costume, emphasizing his natural inclination to help. His quick thinking and selfless action averted a potential tragedy.

The incident gained wider attention when the local police department shared the CCTV footage on social media, calling Helenthal a "real-life superhero." The department humorously noted that their intersection camera had "captured this web of small kindness." Helenthal, a longtime fan of Spider-Man, was recognized for his bravery. Although he initially wished to remain anonymous, Mayor Harold Copenhaver invited him to city hall to present him with a commemorative medal and coin, stating, "The person behind the mask is more important than the mask itself."
