Sports instructor arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting residents with disabilities

A 50-year-old sports instructor has been arrested on suspicion of committing indecent acts against several female minors with cognitive disabilities. The suspect, Gilboa Dahan of Netanya, appeared before the Petah Tikva Magistrate’s Court, where police sought an extension of his detention.

Police allege that security camera footage from a residential facility for children with disabilities shows Dahan touching the intimate areas of several female residents. Investigators reportedly monitored the facility covertly for an extended period. The alleged victims have cognitive disabilities that prevent them from filing complaints or recounting the events.

Dahan denies the allegations, stating that any physical contact occurred while he was assisting the residents. Investigators are examining whether additional cases may exist, as Dahan has worked at other facilities. The court extended his detention by four days to allow for further investigation.

His attorneys, Amir Kimhi and Yehudit Ella Shaked, stated that their client denies the allegations and that the investigation is ongoing.
