St Mary’s Prep honours BECE candidates, staff, quiz winners

St. Mary Preparatory School in Ghana's Eastern Region celebrated its students' achievements at a colorful ceremony honoring the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates, dedicated staff, and quiz competition winners.

The event, chaired by Board Chairperson Dr. Bernice Gligah, brought together school stakeholders to acknowledge academic excellence and leadership. School authorities commended the BECE candidates for their resilience and urged them to stay focused on their educational journey. Outstanding prefects were also recognized for their exemplary leadership and role in maintaining school discipline.

A highlight of the ceremony was the Inter-House Mathematics and Science Quiz Competition, where Quarshie House emerged as the overall winner, receiving a championship trophy. Nightingale House secured second place, with Aggray House and Eva House finishing third and fourth, respectively. All participating team members received certificates.

Dr. Emmanuel Attah Kumah Amponsah, a sponsor of the competition, announced plans to enhance future awards, including trophies, medals, and cash prizes. The school's Director, Madam Miriam Ofosu Appih, praised the students' performance and emphasized the importance of collaboration between parents and teachers for the holistic development of every child.
