Stalled Train Disrupts Rail Services South of Hannover, Affecting Trade Fair Attendees

A stalled train south of Hannover has led to considerable disruptions for rail services, impacting both the S-Bahn and regional express lines. The incident has caused partial cancellations and significant delays on the affected routes, specifically the S4 and RE2 lines.

Travelers heading to the "Interschutz" security trade fair in Hannover are facing particular inconvenience. The S4 line, originating from the main station, will only operate as far as Hannover Messe/Laatzen. From there, replacement buses are being provided to continue the journey to Hildesheim.

Similarly, the Metronom line RE2, which connects Hannover and Göttingen, is running on a single track due to the stalled train. This has resulted in partial service between Elze and Göttingen. Replacement buses are also in operation on the segment from Hannover Messe/Laatzen to Elze. The S-Bahn operator, Transdev, has stated that the duration of these disruptions remains uncertain, advising passengers to check their travel connections before departing.
