State housing support subsidy on the agenda of Thursday’s government council

Morocco’s Government Council will meet on Thursday, September 10, 2026, under the chairmanship of Aziz Akhannouch. The council will examine several draft decrees and an international agreement between Morocco and Niger.

Among the items on the agenda is a draft decree on state housing support. It would set out the forms of assistance and the procedures for granting it to buyers purchasing homes for use as their primary residences, as part of amendments to the existing decree.

The council will also consider a draft decree applying Law No. 36.09, which prohibits the development, production, stockpiling and use of chemical weapons and requires their destruction. Another draft would amend rules establishing the Jorf industrial acceleration zone.

Three higher-education measures are also listed. They concern the composition, organization and operation of the National Commission for the Coordination of Higher Education and its permanent committees, the responsibilities of university institutions and postgraduate study cycles and national degrees, and the application of provisions of Law No. 59.24 on higher education and scientific research.
