Storms with Winds Up to 100 km/h Announced for Paraguay

Residents across Paraguay are advised to prepare for significant weather disturbances as the Directorate of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH) has issued a special bulletin forecasting storms throughout the week. The nation's meteorological agency warns of potentially severe conditions, urging citizens to stay informed and take necessary precautions.

The DMH indicates that storm cells will begin developing on Tuesday, particularly in the western parts of the country, including the capital, Asunción. These conditions are expected to become more widespread by Wednesday. The forecast highlights the potential for substantial rainfall, with accumulations ranging from 70 to 120 mm in central, western, and southern regions, while other areas may see between 30 and 60 mm.

Beyond the heavy downpours, the storms are predicted to bring strong winds, with gusts potentially reaching speeds of up to 100 km/h, and possibly exceeding this in some locations. Meteorologists have also not ruled out the possibility of hail accompanying these severe weather events. The DMH anticipates a particularly intense weather event on Wednesday.
