Stormy weather forecast for Poland on June 1, warnings issued for 14 regions

Poland is set to experience stormy and rainy weather on June 1, potentially disrupting outdoor celebrations for Children's Day. The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW) has issued Level 1 warnings for thunderstorms and heavy rain across 14 of the country's voivodeships.

The affected regions include Warmian-Masurian, Podlaskie, Pomeranian, Masovian, Lublin, Świętokrzyskie, Podkarpackie, Lesser Poland, Silesian, Łódź, Kuyavian-Pomeranian, Greater Poland, Lower Silesia, and Opole. These alerts are in effect from midday until the evening in most areas, with some southern regions of Lower Silesia, Opole, Silesia, and Lesser Poland facing warnings until mid-afternoon.

Residents can expect intense rainfall, thunderstorms, and localized wind gusts reaching up to 60 km/h. The weather is expected to be largely overcast, with chances of clearer skies in the morning and evening, particularly in the western parts of the country. Heavy downpours are most likely in southern Silesia, Lesser Poland, eastern Sudeten mountains, and southern Podkarpacie.

Temperatures are forecast to range between 18 and 22 degrees Celsius. Coastal areas will be cooler, around 16 degrees, while the Carpathian foothills can expect temperatures near 15 degrees. Winds will generally be light to moderate, but will strengthen during thunderstorms.
