Stožice buzzes as Argentinian returns

Agustin Doffo is back in Ljubljana, ready to play for Olimpija in the upcoming season. The Argentinian midfielder, a beloved figure among the club's fans, was officially presented at Stožice Stadium amidst a spectacular atmosphere, alongside the unveiling of the team's new green and white jerseys.

Doffo's return comes after his contract with Olimpija expired at the end of the last season, and he spent the summer months without a club. His presence was the highlight of the evening's event, which celebrated his reunion with the Ljubljana-based team. Doffo, who joined Olimpija in 2022, has been instrumental in the club''s major achievements over the past four seasons, including two national league titles and one cup championship. He has also participated in the Conference League twice.

"I feel great. I'm happy to be back. I can't wait to start the new season together. This is my home," Doffo stated after signing. "I've said many times that Olimpija and Ljubljana are something special. The four years I've spent here have been truly exceptional. I remember many unforgettable moments. I have always been proud to wear this jersey, so I am extremely happy to be here again."

In his previous tenure, the 31-year-old Argentinian midfielder made 165 appearances across all competitions for Olimpija, contributing three goals and 12 assists. He is set to join the team for training on Friday. Olimpija will kick off their new season on Saturday at home in Stožice, facing city rivals Bravo in the first round of the Prva liga Telemach.
