Street closures this Sunday for Central American Games

Santo Domingo will implement special traffic measures this Sunday, August 3, to facilitate the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games. The city's Malecón and Spanish Avenue will see temporary closures and interruptions to accommodate various sporting events.

The Malecón will be closed to traffic from 3:00 AM to 2:00 PM, affecting the stretch between Gregorio Luperón Avenue and Palo Hincado Street. This closure is necessary for the Media Marathon, Race Walking, and Cycling competitions. The National Institute of Land Transit (Intrant) advises commuters to use Rómulo Betancourt, México, Mella, and Simón Bolívar Avenues as alternative routes.

Additionally, Spanish Avenue in the Santo Domingo Este municipality will experience traffic interruptions between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM. These two hours are designated for a reconnaissance route for the Mixed Triathlon competition, impacting the section from Mirador del Este Avenue to 26 de Enero Avenue. The Intrant has recommended alternative routes for this area as well.
