Student Creates 'Supervised-Free' Exam Room at Home to Conquer Test Anxiety

In the Central Highlands of Vietnam, Lê Hoài Cư transforms his family's modest home into a "test room without supervisors" each day. The 12th-grade student meticulously works through practice exams, aiming to achieve high scores on his upcoming graduation tests and secure a university place.

Cư's unique preparation method stems from his anxiety about the exam environment itself. "What worries me most about the high school graduation exam isn't the knowledge but the psychological pressure in the room," Cư explained. "I believe I'll perform much better if I can stay calm and focused. That's why I regularly organize mock exams at home to get used to time pressure."

This self-created test room is more than just a study space; it's a testament to Cư's dedication. Before settling into his books, he starts his day before dawn, shopping for groceries for his elderly grandmother and preparing meals for his family. He manages household chores, including cooking, before dedicating himself to his studies using an old, temperamental computer.

Cư's family faces significant financial challenges. His father, despite a childhood injury that cost him his right arm, works tirelessly to support the family. His mother supplements their meager income by working in the fields and caring for children. Despite their struggles, they prioritize Cư's education, cherishing every penny to support his academic aspirations.
