Student Vanishes After Entering Danube River in Budapest

Yacine, who had been studying in Budapest since 2018 on a scholarship, was a student at the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics. His aspiration was to graduate in the Hungarian capital, a dream now uncertain following his disappearance.

According to his father, Yacine was out for a walk with a friend on the evening of April 5 and decided to stroll along the river. Crucially, he did not take his personal identification documents with him, a detail that adds to the father's concern and hope.

In his plea, Yacine's father expressed a desperate hope that, due to the absence of identification, the Hungarian authorities might have taken his son into custody. He believes this could be a way to ensure Yacine's safety and facilitate the process of confirming his identity, thereby potentially leading to his safe return.
