Subway crew member saves unconscious passenger with rapid CPR on Seoul train

A passenger who collapsed on a Seoul Subway Line 2 train regained consciousness after a crew member performed CPR for about one minute.

The passenger collapsed at around 6:42 a.m. on the train as it approached Daerim Station. After receiving the report, the crew member went to the carriage, checked the passenger’s condition and confirmed that the person had no consciousness or breathing.

The crew member asked people nearby to call emergency services and immediately began CPR. Once the passenger recovered consciousness, the crew member handed the person over to staff at Daerim Station and returned to operating the train.

The same train crew had also performed CPR on collapsed passengers in October 2024 and January 2023. Seoul Metro has provided practical training with outside instructors since this year, with 222 crew members taking part in hands-on instruction.
