Sudameris and Minerva Strengthen Their Cattle Industry Alliance at Expo Concepción

At Expo Concepción, Sudameris and Minerva Foods presented their partnership as a way to deepen business in Paraguay’s cattle-producing north. The annual gathering brought together the bank’s clients, livestock producers and executives at Minerva’s stand.

Sudameris’s livestock banking division said the region remains a priority because of its strong cattle production. The bank provides financial services to livestock, agricultural and forestry producers, and recently opened a branch in central Concepción to reinforce its physical presence among local businesses.

The region is a place with large and excellent livestock production.

Its current livestock lending strategy focuses on breeding and retaining female cattle. The bank offers financing over the short, medium and long term, with the breeding program intended to rebuild and expand herds. Gualberto Yegros, deputy manager of livestock banking at Sudameris, said the bank works closely with producers and follows the development of their projects.

Minerva sees the financial relationship as complementary to its own operations. The company’s main Paraguayan plant is in Belén, about 20 kilometers from Concepción, and has capacity to process 2,000 cattle a day. Minerva has operated in the region since 2017 and says it seeks partnerships such as the one with Sudameris because the two companies share customers.

Minerva Paraguay director Fabrizio Ferrarezi described the gathering as an expression of cooperation. “We always say that together we are stronger; sharing to enhance the reputation of the region’s producers is a gesture toward a highly productive area that deserves Minerva’s presence,” he said. Both companies used the event to emphasize the northern region’s potential for livestock investment.
