Sudaryono Appointed Head of National Nutrition Agency, Replacing Nanik Deyang

President Prabowo Subianto has appointed Sudaryono, the former Deputy Minister of Agriculture, as the new Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN). The appointment took place at the State Palace in Central Jakarta on Wednesday, July 22, 2026.

Sudaryono succeeds Nanik S. Deyang, who stepped down from the position for health reasons. The Minister of State Secretary, Prasetyo Hadi, explained that Sudaryono was chosen because he was involved from the outset in formulating the concept and technical discussions for the "Free Nutritious Meal" (MBG) program. "The President decided that the replacement for the Head of BGN would be Mr. Sudaryono, who currently serves as the Deputy Minister of Agriculture," Prasetyo stated at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta.

Sudaryono, often called Mas Dar, was born in Grobogan, Central Java, on January 23, 1985. He previously served as the Chairman of the Central Java Regional Board of the Gerindra Party. His extensive background includes active participation in various organizations such as the Indonesian Farmers Harmony Association (HKTI) and Tani Merdeka Indonesia (TMI). He is also a supervisor for the DPP Pedagang Pejuang Indonesia Raya (PAPERA) and a member of the Association of All Indonesian Market Traders (APPSI).

His educational and career trajectory is notable. After graduating as the best student from SMA Taruna Nusantara in 2003, he received a scholarship to study at the National Defense Academy in Japan. He pursued mechanical engineering, earning a Bachelor of Engineering in 2009. Later, he obtained dual degrees in Master of Management and Master of Business Administration from Swiss German University in Tangerang, graduating in 2018. He completed his doctoral studies in management and business at the Bogor Agricultural University, earning his Ph.D. in 2025. Sudaryono began his professional career as Prabowo Subianto's personal assistant for five years before becoming Corporate Secretary at Nusantara Energy in 2014. He also served as CEO of Garuda TV in 2018 and PT Nusantara Telematics System from 2019, and Chairman of PT Sahabat Sejati Sejahtera Farma from 2020. He was appointed Deputy Minister of Agriculture on July 18, 2024, and also holds the position of President Commissioner at PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero).
