Sunday Igboho recounts DSS raid, escape from 2021 home invasion

Sunday Adeyemo, the Yoruba Nation activist widely known as Sunday Igboho, has detailed his experience during the July 2021 raid on his Ibadan residence by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS).

When they came around 1:30 am. I heard a sound and was inquiring who it was; they started shooting at the room. They heard my voice. When they finally scaled the fence in, they planted dynamite on the burglary, and everything completely fell apart. That was where they entered.

Igboho recounted that he was present in the house throughout the operation but managed to evade the DSS. He specifically refuted claims that he transformed into a cat to escape, stating that the operatives killed a cat, mistaking it for him. He described how the DSS scaled his fence and used dynamite to breach his security, gaining entry into the house.

I didn’t turn into a cat. They even killed it, thinking it was me.

During the narration to a Muslim delegation at his Ibadan home, Igboho described the intense moments of the raid. He said he heard the operatives arriving and shooting, and that they pointed a gun at his personal assistant's head. He also mentioned that the DSS killed a partially blind relative who came out, believing him to be an attacker, and took away corpses as evidence of their operation. Igboho attributed his survival to divine intervention and prayers from clerics.

So it was God that saved me after a prayer that some Muslim clerics did in my house, forestalling a bad vision they claimed to have seen on me.
