Sungai Buloh iron factory gutted by 90% in morning blaze

An iron hardware factory in Sungai Buloh, Selangor, was devastated by a fire early this morning, with approximately 90% of the premises destroyed. The blaze also spread to a neighboring furniture factory, causing substantial damage.

The Selangor Fire and Rescue Department received the emergency call at 7:32 AM. The first fire engine from the Sungai Buloh Fire Station reached the scene by 7:40 AM. The affected industrial premises were identified as Alive Hardware Sdn. Bhd. and Cozey Living furniture factory, both located in Sungai Buloh.

The hardware factory measuring 50 x 200 feet suffered approximately 90 percent destruction due to the fire which spread quickly.

According to Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar, Assistant Director of Operations for the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department, the hardware factory, measuring 50 by 200 feet, suffered about 90% destruction. The adjacent Cozey Living furniture factory, of the same size, sustained severe damage, with approximately 60% of its structure burning.

Firefighting operations involved 26 personnel and multiple units, including four Fire Rescue Tenders, two Water Tankers, and two Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) units. Assistance was also received from fire stations in Bukit Jelutong, Subang Jaya, Damansara, and Selayang to control the fire. Fortunately, no injuries or deaths were recorded during the operation.

Investigations into the cause of the fire and the exact financial losses incurred are ongoing. The case remains under active investigation.
