Sungshin Women’s University runs Microsoft AI-901 program with 75% pass rate

Sungshin Women’s University says a practical artificial-intelligence training course helped turn classroom learning into certification results, with 75% of test takers passing Microsoft’s global AI-901 exam.

Thirty-five enrolled students completed the intensive program on Aug. 28 through the university’s AI Education Innovation Center. The course formed part of the 2026 Junior College Innovation Support Project and aimed to build basic AI and digital-transformation skills alongside a recognized qualification.

The 20-hour program went beyond lectures. Students used Microsoft Learn materials, followed demonstrations by professional instructors and worked in the Microsoft Foundry environment. They practiced generative AI and prompt engineering, built AI agents through Foundry, and used language, speech and vision services. The curriculum also included optical character recognition and document-information extraction.

The organizers expanded hands-on work through the Foundry Playground and agent services, allowing students to create models directly. The final part of the course focused on test preparation, including summaries of examination areas, question-solving by type and mock exams. The university also supported participants with examination fees.

Baek Ji-won, head of the AI Education Innovation Center, said AI skills now serve as a basic requirement across many jobs, not only within particular academic majors. The university plans to connect certification training with students’ studies, career planning and employment, while expanding related extracurricular programs such as the AIDX Trendsetter lecture series and AI Imagination Concert.
