Suspect arrested in burglary of celebrity Ivan Gunawan's hijab store

Police in Banyumas have arrested a suspect in connection with a burglary at the Mandja hijab store in Purwokerto, owned by celebrity Ivan Gunawan. The suspect, identified by the initial AS and aged 31, was apprehended following an investigation into the incident.

The theft occurred on Friday, July 24, around 1:00 AM local time, at the store located on Jalan Jenderal Soedirman. The break-in was discovered later that morning around 8:00 AM when an employee arrived to open the shop and found the cashier area and lockers in disarray. Management confirmed that several valuable items were missing.

According to Banyumas Police Chief Kombes Petrus Silalahi, investigators processed the crime scene, gathered evidence, and interviewed witnesses before identifying and arresting AS. The suspect allegedly gained entry by damaging the back wall of the building with a hammer and screwdriver, creating a hole large enough to enter.

Items reported stolen include a laptop, a tablet, two mobile phones, and an unspecified amount of cash. The police are continuing their investigation into the full details of the case.
