Suspect Arrested in Cikarang Assault and Confinement Case

Police have arrested a man identified by the initials HSLT, who is believed to be the primary suspect in the alleged assault and confinement of a woman in Cikarang Selatan, Bekasi Regency, West Java. The arrest was confirmed by Kombes Budi Hermanto, Head of Public Relations for the Metro Jaya Regional Police.

While the exact details of the arrest, including the time and location, have not yet been disclosed, Hermanto stated that HSLT is currently undergoing intensive examination by investigators at the Bekasi Metro Police Resort. Further developments are expected to be released in a statement from the Bekasi Resort Police on Monday.

Previously, police were investigating the case of a woman found with facial injuries, who claimed to have been assaulted and held captive by her boyfriend. The victim reported being in a relationship with HSLT since April 2025, and they had been living together in Cikarang Selatan. The alleged abuse reportedly occurred repeatedly between June 29 and July 8, 2026, resulting in bruises on the victim's face and hands.

Investigators tentatively believe that jealousy was the motive behind the alleged assault and confinement. According to Kasat Reskrim Polres Metro Bekasi AKBP Jerico Lavian Chandra, HSLT accused the victim of having relationships with other people. Police had previously arrested another individual, an employee of HSLT, who allegedly assisted in the crime.
