Suspect in glass-case gold shop robbery arrested after just over an hour

Ho Chi Minh City police apprehended a suspect in a gold shop robbery just 82 minutes after the crime occurred. The incident involved the suspect smashing a display case and stealing gold jewelry.

The robbery took place on Nguyen Sy Sach Street when a man, wearing a mask and long-sleeved shirt, arrived on a motorcycle. He broke the glass of a display case at the K.H.T gold shop and quickly took 10 18K gold rings, weighing approximately 7 taels, before fleeing the scene.

Upon receiving the report, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department directed local police to collaborate with the Criminal Police Department and the Forensic Science Department. They secured the scene, conducted an examination, and collected evidence. Investigators quickly reviewed surveillance footage and identified the suspect as Truong Xuan Huy, 44 years old.

Authorities located and arrested Huy on Ta Quang Buu Street, preventing the disposal of the stolen goods. The police have recovered the stolen assets and are working to retrieve any remaining items, while also gathering evidence for legal proceedings.
