Vietnam deports 16 Bangladeshi nationals for immigration violations

Dong Nai province police in Vietnam have deported 16 Bangladeshi citizens for violating immigration laws. The individuals were apprehended by the Dong Nai Provincial Immigration Management Department in coordination with the Ministry of Public Security's Immigration Department and other functional units.

The group was discovered during routine checks on foreigners residing and working in the area. Authorities identified 7 cases involving 16 Bangladeshi nationals who had broken immigration laws. These individuals were held at the Dong Nai Provincial Police's training and professional development center before being escorted to Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City for deportation to Bangladesh.

Officials stated that the operation demonstrates the strict enforcement of the law, ensuring that all violations by foreigners in Vietnam are promptly addressed according to regulations. Since the beginning of 2026, Dong Nai police have deported over 100 foreigners for violations related to residency and labor laws.

The Dong Nai Provincial Police urged foreigners in Vietnam to adhere to all legal provisions, including entering for the purpose stated on their visas, obtaining work permits, registering their temporary residence, and complying with local security and order regulations. Businesses and individuals employing foreign nationals were also advised to review and fulfill their legal obligations regarding recruitment and management to prevent violations.
