Suspect's confession shocks in murder case: 'He possessed me with jinn'

A shocking confession has emerged in the murder of 70-year-old Mehmet Doğan, who was found shot dead in his home in Şanlıurfa's Eyyübiye district. The suspect, identified as Seyit Ali S., claims he killed Doğan because the elderly man had "possessed him with jinn."

Authorities formed a special team to investigate the homicide after Doğan was discovered deceased in his residence. Security camera footage from the surrounding area led investigators to Seyit Ali S., who was apprehended hiding in a scrap metal depot approximately six hours after the incident. During police questioning, the suspect admitted to the murder.

Seyit Ali S. reportedly told investigators that he met Mehmet Doğan through a mutual acquaintance. He alleged that Doğan had previously written him a charm (muska) due to personal problems. The suspect claims that he later went to Doğan's house believing "jinn had possessed him," leading to a confrontation and the fatal shooting.

Mehmet Doğan, originally from Nevşehir, had retired from Germany and had been renting a home in Şanlıurfa for about a year. His body was taken for an autopsy following an examination at the crime scene. The suspect, Seyit Ali S., was transferred to the courthouse after a health check, as the investigation into the case continues.
