Suspect surrenders in fatal clash that killed 15-year-old in Greece

A 15-year-old boy has died following a violent altercation in Kallithea, Greece, with authorities reporting that one of the individuals involved has surrendered. The suspect, identified as the driver of a vehicle that transported others to the square where the incident occurred, appeared before the authorities accompanied by his legal counsel.

According to reports, the driver was not arrested due to the expiration of the self-flagrante delicto period. He is expected to be transferred directly to the prosecutor's office to face charges. Earlier, seven individuals, including the alleged perpetrator, were brought before the prosecutor. Charges have been filed against the young people, including intentional homicide, complicity in a death, assault, and illegal possession and use of a weapon.

The 17-year-old who confessed to stabbing the 15-year-old victim claims he did not intend to kill him. "I had no intention of killing the 15-year-old. The knife was initially in his hands. During the clash, I grabbed the knife from him and wounded him, not with the intention of taking his life but of injuring him," the 17-year-old reportedly stated. His father echoed this defense, telling MEGA that his son acted in self-defense.

The family of the 15-year-old, through their lawyers, has declared their intention to pursue legal action against all those deemed responsible for their child's death, including any accomplices, regardless of age. They also stated they will take legal measures if they believe the victim's memory is being disrespected by comments or reports on social media and other media outlets. The family's lawyers emphasized that the "savagery" of the incident will be fully exposed through legal means, and they are demanding the strictest possible punishment for all involved, without tolerance for mitigating circumstances or excuses from the perpetrators. The family is grieving and requests that this be respected.
