Suspected Arson: Second Young Person Suspected in Espoo Abandoned House Fire

Authorities in Espoo, Finland, are investigating a house fire that occurred last Thursday in the Säteri area of southern Leppävaara. Police suspect that the fire, which completely destroyed an abandoned two-story house, was intentionally set.

Law enforcement apprehended a young man near the scene shortly after the fire broke out. However, the Western Uusimaa Police Department announced on Tuesday that they now suspect a second young individual was also involved in the incident. According to the police statement, the two suspects know each other, and both are over the age of 15.

Investigators are currently working to determine the possible motives behind the arson and the precise sequence of events that led to the fire. The investigation will continue with interviews of the suspects and witnesses.

The destroyed property was a two-story detached house, estimated to be between 80 and 110 square meters in size. The Western Uusimaa Rescue Department responded to the scene to combat the blaze.
