Suspected Drug Trafficker Drowns While Fleeing Police in Sri Lanka

Tragedy struck the Beruwala fishing harbor as a suspected drug trafficker met a grim end, attempting to evade law enforcement. The individual, reportedly engaged in illicit activities aboard a multi-day fishing vessel anchored at the harbor, plunged into the sea when police arrived to conduct a raid. This desperate act to escape arrest ultimately led to the person's drowning.

However, the individual in question chose a perilous escape route, leaping into the water from a fishing boat. Despite an immediate search by the police, the person could not be located at the time.

Later, on April 18th, the body of the individual was discovered by the Sri Lanka Navy's Coast Guard personnel, floating in the sea near the Beruwala fishing harbor.
