Suspected Hitman for 'Los Mezcales' Arrested in Colima

Colima authorities have apprehended Marco Antonio 'N', identified as a suspected perpetrator of violence and a member of the criminal organization known as 'Los Mezcales' or the Independent Cartel of Colima. The arrest was made on Thursday by elements from the State Attorney General's Office (FGE), the Secretariat of the Navy, and the Secretariat of Public Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC).

The capture occurred in the municipality of Colima, pursuant to an arrest warrant for his alleged participation in qualified homicide and attempted qualified homicide. These charges stem from an assault that resulted in one death and one injury. Investigations led by the FGE suggest Marco Antonio 'N' is connected to various violent incidents throughout the state, including multiple homicides.

Officials stated that his detention represents a significant step forward in clarifying these criminal events and identifying other potential members of the criminal structure.
