Suspected killer of security agent arrested in San Martín de Porres

Peruvian police have apprehended Rodolfo Jordan Trelles Avecedo, also known as Rodo, a 33-year-old man suspected of involvement in the murder of security agent Pedro Luis Mamani Ricalde. Ricalde, 56, was fatally shot on March 9 while on duty guarding a significant amount of money for the transport company LIPETSA in San Martín de Porres.

The arrest occurred on Wednesday after police obtained a preliminary detention order for seven days. Rodo is believed to be a member of the criminal organization 'Los del Cierre,' which is known for engaging in aggravated robbery, contract killings, and other illicit activities. The investigation into Ricalde's murder is ongoing, with authorities seeking to identify and capture other potential perpetrators.

This apprehension is linked to previous arrests made on May 6, involving Cristopher Erik Pineda Astete and Arturo Ávila Flores, who are also suspected of being part of criminal groups implicated in similar crimes. Police are leveraging intelligence and investigative actions to strengthen the case and dismantle the criminal networks operating in the area. Rodo has prior police records for illegal firearm possession.
