Suspected robber dies by suicide to avoid arrest in Karachi: police

In Karachi, a suspected thief died by suicide to evade capture during a robbery attempt early Saturday morning. The incident occurred at an office belonging to a travel agency, located within a bungalow on Khalid Bin Waleed Road near Tariq Road in PECHS. Officials reported that the suspect had entered the premises with the intention of committing a robbery.

According to Ferozabad police Station House Officer (SHO) Adeel Afzal, a police party responded to a call at the scene. Upon their arrival, the suspect allegedly shot himself out of fear of being arrested and died immediately. The official stated that the suspect was identified as an employee of the travel agency itself, having worked there for the past five years. It is believed the suspect had created a duplicate key to gain access to the office.

The owner of the bungalow alerted authorities after noticing an unauthorized entry. Police quickly arrived, cordoned off the area, and attempted to apprehend the suspect. SHO Afzal confirmed that the suspect locked himself in the washroom before taking his own life to avoid arrest. The body was subsequently transported to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for necessary legal procedures.
