Suspects in Wattala Murder Arrested in India

Authorities have arrested two suspects in Dhanushkodi, India, in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred at a party in a hall in Palliyawatte, Wattala, Sri Lanka. Police sources revealed that the suspects are believed to have escaped to India via boat from Thalaimannar.

Initial police investigations suggest the shooting was intended for 'Kudu Roshan,' a relative of an organized crime figure and drug trafficker known as 'Mattakkuliye Kudu Roshan.' However, the target was missed, and another individual was fatally shot.

The victim, identified as Sumedha (44) from the Boralla area, was the brother of 'Wanaathe Chana.' Police investigations indicate that the murder was orchestrated by 'Mattakkuliya Manoj,' also known as Mattakkuliye Priyankara Manoj, an organized crime figure and drug trafficker. The firearm used in the killing was reportedly provided by 'Parrevi Sudha,' another organized crime figure and drug trafficker, who is believed to be brothers with 'Mattakkuliya Manoj.' Both are reportedly hiding in India.

The vehicle used by the shooter was a rented car, which police later found abandoned in the Ja-Ela area. Four other suspects, allegedly involved in providing the vehicle, have been arrested by Wattala police.
