Canada, managed by Jesse Marsch, finished second in the group with four points. They will move to the United States for their round of 16 match. Rubén Vargas opened the scoring for Switzerland in the 46th minute, followed by a goal from promising player Johan Manzambi in the 57th minute. Canada's Promise David scored their lone goal in the 76th minute.

The Swiss will await their opponent for a July 3 match in Vancouver, facing one of the best third-placed teams.
